About Me

I have been practising Yoga for more than 15 years. Like many people, I came to it for the physical benefits, but kept with it because of the way it also soothed me mentally and emotionally, and inspired and invigorated me intellectually and spiritually.

For me Yoga has nothing to do with fancy, bendy shapes, and everything to do with connecting with who we are, and how we are, on the inside. Yoga brings me a sense of ease in body and mind. It helps me to find my strength and courage, and to explore what is going on for me, deep inside. Some days it has me reaching for the stars; other days it holds a space for me to deeply rest on the earth.

I work as a Yoga Teacher and Therapist because I want to share this beautiful, potent practice. To walk this path alongside others, because I know how much it helps me and my own children and loved ones. I embarked on this work after becoming a mother to my two children, inspired by them to follow my heart and work in a way that feels helpful and meaningful. Each of us face our own unique challenges and I truly believe that Yoga, and a loving space held by a therapist or teacher, has the power to support every body to find their way through even the very toughest times.

Before Yoga

Before this I worked as a journalist and then in the charity sector, helping people to tell their heartfelt and often heart-breaking stories to raise the charities’ profiles and raise much-needed funds. Having interviewed children and adults who have faced homelessness, eating disorders, cancer, self-harm and poverty in the UK and travelled all over the world to speak with people about experiences including war, violence against women, HIV/AIDS and bonded labour, I retrained as a Children’s Yoga Teacher, then an Adult Yoga Teacher, and finally as a Children and Young People’s Yoga Therapist, specifically working in mental health. These days I want to do more than talk and write about trauma, I want to help people heal and move through it.

So this is what I offer: a place where you are welcome exactly as you are, with no judgment or expectations. A place where suffering is acknowledged, honoured and held. A place to heal and grow, and the opportunity to find your way home to comfort and joy – in mind, body and soul.
